What Does it Mean to Live a Pranic Lifestyle?

Prana refers to the energy that is in us and around us. It is the life force that is in all things – the air we breathe, sunshine, nature, people, animals, and all living things. It is a powerful source of energy and fuel for humans to choose to embrace and work with it. Some cultures refer to prana as “Chi”, and others refer to it as “mana.”

Living a pranic lifestyle means embracing our prana and shifting our focus from dense sources of fuel to less dense sources. Dense sources of fuel include things like food and drink. Less dense sources include energy. Living a pranic lifestyle does not mean sacrificing food or other things you enjoy, but it is about finding abundance in the energy that is already in and around us.

What is a Pranic Lifestyle?

A pranic lifestyle is a lifestyle that focuses on embracing the moment and energies that are around us and in us at a given time. By feeding on the prana in and around us, we can boost our natural energy and live a healthier and more abundant life.

A pranic lifestyle often involves eating less, exercising more, and routinely practicing meditation and/or yoga. Breathing exercises are often a part of daily routine, and are a great source of stress and anxiety relief.

What is a Pranic Diet?

Many people who live a pranic lifestyle choose to embrace a pranic diet. That means, essentially, choosing foods that are healthy and bring positive energy to body, mind, and spirit. There are three food groups in a pranic diet, consisting of:

  • Positive: Foods that ignite energy.
  • Neutral: Foods that don’t offer much nutritionally.
  • Negative: Foods that harm or remove positive energies.

Generally, positive foods are those with high nutritional value, such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, oils, and natural sweeteners like honey. Neutral foods are those that don’t offer as much nutritional value and may make you feel lethargic or energy-deprived. Negative foods are those that take away energy, such as processed foods, sugars, and caffeine.

What is Pranic Healing?

Pranic healing is a healing practice based on the principles of self-recovery and vital force. In other words, the human body has the ability to heal itself and/or promote healing by tapping into the energies in and around it. Pranic healing is said to be beneficial in relieving the symptoms of:

  • Migraines
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Mental Illness
  • Chronic Pain

With pranic healing, your healer or practitioner will assess your energy and guide you through cleansing it and restoring positive and healing energy to your body. By restoring this vital force, your body becomes more engaged in the healing process.

Pranic healing can be beneficial on its own, but it is most often used in conjunction with more traditional methods of healing. By cleansing our energy of toxins and negativity, we are boosting our defense system, which allows medications and treatments to work more effectively.
